Alison - " Ju-On"

Ally has so much hair that she often looks like a little ,well, head of hair (like those japanese ghosts!) Have you spotted her? She's the one in the centre lah.

Ok, I know it's not very nice to associate my little daughter with Ju-On (That scary white faced child ghost from the Japanse horror flick) . It's just that the sequence of events that happened reminded me of that show.

Oooooh, You must be thinking...what scary creepy thing happened right?

Here goes.

You know how Mark and I have been practising the "cry it out" method right. Anyway, Alison sleeps very well through the night now but once in a while she does wake up whimpering in the middle of the night. Two days ago was one of those nights.

As usual when she does this, Mark and I will lie very still, waiting for her to stop and soothe herself back to sleep. Alison sleeps on her own mattress at the base of our bed. That day, we had just fixed up a secure railing around the exposed part of the bed so that she can't climb over ( from experiences where she fell asleep with her body half hanging over the barricade of boxes we put around her bed).

So, we were pretty smug and comforted knowing she would be safe in the confines of her bed. Anyway, she continued crying.

We could see her headful of thick hair bobbing up and down as she called "Ma ma, ma ma" ( Yes, it's very heart wrenching now that she knows how to call me).

Our bodies were stiff from lying so very still. (Even a rustle would cause her to cry even more , since she thinks we are awake).

Suddenly, silence.

We lay still, waiting.

Then, " POMPH...POMPH....POMPH....POMPH"

Could it be?! No, it can't be. She couldn't have.

Mark turned to me and whispered," Deb, She's ON THE BED!!!!!"

True enough, from the base of the bed, we saw a headful of black hair making its way towards us. ( remember the scene where the lady ghost comes out from TV crawling?) Yah, something like that.

Ally had somehow, through some "super baby strength" managed to hoist herself onto our bed, in a desperate bid to get to us.

Unlike the scary Japanese ghost, we couldn't wait to hug this little Ju On!
