6 weeks have passed and we've come to realise that lookswise, the two girls are pretty different.
This is Ally at 2 weeks
and this is Angie at 2 weeks
This is them again at 6 weeks. Ally's the first pic.
We've noticed that:
Ally has a sharper face while Angie is a real chubby checker. She's surpassing her sister in terms of weight gain too
Angie has the signature Ng family eye bags, formed mostly by the signature Ng family chubby cheeks. Ally has no eyebags.
Ally's outstanding hair was visible from 2 weeks. Angie's hair is way tamer.
In terms of other traits,
Both are vomitters! Angie is nowhere as bad as Ally, who we used to nickname the Merlion or the baby exorcist, because of the numerous times she would spew vomit out of her mouth. Angie vomits pretty frequently too, but it has never shot out of her mouth and most of the time when burped properly, she is fine. Like Ally, she has a very sensitive gag reflex though that causes food to come out easily.
Although my previous post says otherwise, Angie is ,on the whole, a much better sleeper than Ally. We're training her from the start, respecting the 1 to 2 hour window within which young babies should be put down for a nap (according to sleep guru Dr Weisbluth) So, apart from a few bad days, Angie sleeps well. And lately, she can actually soothe herself to sleep. Yes, we put her down awake and 10 minutes later, she is asleep!!! We're crossing our fingers this will carry on.
Angie seems much more physically adept. For a 6 week old, her neck is extremely strong. She can hold her own for quite some time while Ally's neck was real floppy. She also seems to be making attempts to roll over at this early stage.
Anyway, it's just amazing how two girls from the same mummy and daddy can be so different. But that's what makes each of them special isn't it?
I leave you with a gorgeous picture of Ally. She has really grown into a beautiful toddler, don't you think?
