All grown up!

That's Ally showing you her, "beautiful eyes". One of her many party tricks.

Ever since Ally turned 1, she seems to think she has grown up. I say this because she has changed in certain ways.

1. She takes really short morning naps now, often refusing her nap totally. For the past half year, Ally takes one morning nap of about one hour and another afternoon nap for about 11/2 hours. Lately though, she resists her morning nap, crying and bawling when we try to put her to sleep. The minute we give up, she will give her signature chuckle. Amazingly, despite her lack of rest, she is very active and cheerful till about 1 something when she will take a longer afternoon nap of about 21/2 hours. I guess this is just growing up, as I've heard most babies go down to one nap a day when they get older.

2. She NO LONGER wants her NAN NAN Can you believe it? The one thing she used to crave for. THe one thing that could soothe her in any situation. For the past three days, she actually said "NO" to it. I have been diligently offering her the breast every morning and usually she will gleefully suckle like there's no tomorrow. But these few days, she will reach out, pull my shirt down and shake her head to say "no"! Smetimes, she will just give it( my boob!) a consoling pat and just turn away. If I try to cuddle her into a feeding position, she will squirm her way out of it. Is this child-led weaning? I am sure not ready, so I just pumped my milk today just to keep up the supply in case she's just on a temporary milk fast.

I am so going to MISS this!

3. She will only drink from a cup or sippy cup Well, she never really liked the bottle but she did take it for half a year. Suddenly now, she won't again and insists on being fed her milk through the sippy cup or drinking it straight from an adult cup.

4. She no longer wants support when she's walking. Try to hold her hand when she's walking and she will aggressively push you away. Ya ya papaya la.To think just a few weeks ago she could only stand in one spot!

So, what do you think? Really like all grown up ah?

She's playing peekaboo here!"
