As if the day cannot get any worse, my maid collapsed today and lay motionless on the floor, complaining of chest pains. She also couldn't move.
I was just about to step out to get some work done, thank goodness I didn't because both kids were frantic when she fell.We thought she was having a heart attack or stroke, judging from her symptoms.
I called the ambulance and she was rushed to SGH. the ECG , blood tests and chest X rays revealed nothing, although her blood pressure was rather high on the way to the hospital.
Final prognosis: Stress.
Your read my earlier post. I ranted. I think that affected her. I forgot how sensitive she is.I never knew it would affect her to the extent that she would collapse.
I will speak to her tomorrow. From her friend maids, they say she has been having problems with her family too and she is concerned that we are not renewing her contract which is due soon. Mark and I were definitely going to , we just havent got round to speaking to her about it yet with the whole family sick! This morning, she had a big row with her hubby. It all came together and bang, she couldn't take it.
I am very sorry for having tipped her over. I will be mindful not to blow my top unneccessarily. But you know, I just HAD to today or I would explode in my head with my frustration. Those of you who know me, know I rarely, if NEVER flare up. This was one of my rare days and this had to happen.
Anyway, I will be speaking to her tomorrow to reassure her and just ask about her. Caught up in everyday life of business and family, I realise I don't know much about her - it's time to do that, if not long overdue.
Sigh, what a day, what a week.
