Sleeping with Auntie

All bright and cheery in the morning

As one of the steps to prepare for the new baby, Alison has been moved out of our bedroom and now sleeps with Auntie Delia.

It's been one week since, and Mark and I are still amazed at how smooth the transition has been. I mean, she actually sleeps much better with Auntie!

She wakes up at a more sane hour of 715am (instead of the usual 615am with us!) ,

She doesn't stir at all between 8pm and her wake up time. Even if she does, she never cries. She just cheekily calls "Auntie?" , "Auuuuuuuuuntie....." Then after hearing no response (we told Delia not to pick her up!), pops right back to sleep.
( With us, on those naughty nights that she does decide to wake up, she will always cry pitifully and sometimes not go back to sleep till 2 hours later)

And to think we thought she would be so traumatised by the move.

We were anticipating nights of us sleeping with her in the maid's room till she got used to the new location and stopped crying out for mummy and daddy.

We imagined her clawing on our door in the morning, desperately wanting her usual morning snuggles with Mum and Dad.

Ha.. not at all, She hardly misses us man! And we think she actually prefers sleeping in the smaller room with the maid. We think it's probably not as scary. In our bedroom cum study, it's pretty big and she's alone in there a long time as we only go in much later at night. But our maid sleeps at 10pm so there's always someone in the room and she can see this person. We used to sleep with a big shield , blocking her view from us as she kept on calling out to us.

So anyway, now that we've reclaimed our space, Mark and I have been enjoying our room for the remaining 2 months before Angeline comes along. Check out our new TV for bedtime viewing!

Mark enjoying himself, with the tv of course

Since Ally was born, we have had to be super silent in our bedroom. Yup, in fact I think we've mastered the art of moving like silent NINJAS. We dress in the dark. I slap on whatever cream I can get my hands on in the dark cupboard. Then, very stealthily, we will sneak past her bed and do a flying leap onto our bed, landing in a semi crouch before slowly easing oursleves under the sheets noiselessly!

Haaha. It's ridiculous what we went through. But I'm sure many parents out there with young children in their room can attest to this. We have one couple friend who totally related to the agonising act of "staying still, sweating under the sheets and suffering leg cramp" while waiting for the baby to just go back to sleep. Hahahah.

Yah, she loves to brush her own teeth. Funny isn't it.
