Ally really loves her daddy. And Mark deserves her affection. Unlike dads last time ( who don't even dare to carry the baby, much less change the diaper), Mark does everything that he can possibly be involved in!
He unabashedly poses for pregnant studio shots. This is Mark giving the " oh my baby is so heavy!" look. ( For those who have never been pregnant, don't be scared by my stomach, it's NOT going to explode!)
He also bathes Ally, his main responsibility every night and on weekends. Now, not many men dare to handle their babies, so this is worthy of praise.
Don't be shocked! Mark is wearing shorts here. He's NOT naked lah.
His efforts are paying off. While before there was an obvious preference for me, Ally is now showing clear signs of her love for daddy.
She cries when he walks away (Daddy Mark was elated when she started doing that!). She fusses when I feed her breakfast in the morning when Mark is around, yet quietens down when he feeds her ( we think she's trying to stall him from going to work). And she insists on playing and not taking her naps when he's around on weekends! She's also started saying "da-day" randomly.
I tell you, there were some rough patches when Daddy was feeling insecure (though he will never admit it!) It was very sweet actually. He even claimed that Ally didn't really like him because he was given all the duties she hated, like changing her diapers, feeding her the bottle ( He hasn't succeeded here yet!) and being the one in the room who pretends to sleep like a log when she is wailing away during her sleep training! He sincerely thought that she would never like him again.
But she does! She does! And Mark is happy again. I am too since I can offload some of the duties!
Yup, I can certainly see a daddy's girl in the making.
