Bali High!

If you've been wondering why no update? Well, Alison's been on a holiday, her very first! We just came back from a five day stay in Bali in a beautiful villa owned by Mark's colleague. Rented it for US$170 a night. There is room to house eight people comfortably, and you get a cook and a chauffeur along with it . Very "oooh hwa" the more people there are. Check it out.

The private pool area in our hill-top villa

Where we lounged around and had our massages. Shiok!

Where we had delicious indonesian food

The caretakers are a young newly married couple. Can't help but wonder what they do with such a beautiful place when no one is staying in it. I expect them to have a baby next year should we return! That's also because they were very taken by little Alison.

(yes, she is wearing a t-shirt to swim.. hee hee)

She swam in the gorgeous pool overlooking a magnificent view everyday. Mummy, the ever skin conscious one, slathered SPF37 baby sunblock on her everyday of course. You can't really see , but she's wearing a bikini. The top keeps riding up though. It happens when you don't have much there...ha! .Still, it's really cute, but my friend May will disagree. She thinks babies should not be dressed in such skimpy provocative outfits!

We also brought her shopping on the streets of Bali. I must say I am quite horrified by the shopkeepers, especially the women. I think we must have been hurled at least two vile curses as we haggled our way down to ridiculous prices! Haha, all thanks to my mother-in law and Mark who relish clinching a good bargain. Here's Alison wearing some of the fruits of their labour.

$2 for this lovely batik crochet dress

$3 for this Hawaiian style one.

This one's an old one from a friend,
just wanted to show you guys this picture!

Apart from all the fun we had, this trip also unveiled a startling revelation! SHE DOESN"T ONLY WANT MOMMY!

My in-laws actually took care of her two of the nights, and she slept very well with them, not once looking for Mommy! I woke up at 4am, no Alison, 8am, still no sign of her. She was just enjoying herself with her grandparents. And to think we were so reluctant to hand her over, insisting that she would be so upset if she found her parents missing and cry till she vomits. Hah! Not only did she not cry, she slept even better with them! Damn Lau Kui!

I felt a pang of sadness that she didn't need me. But only for a while. Because it dawned on me I can now leave her overnight with her grandparents! Mark and I can take short weekend trips alone! Hooray.
